Round 2 TRCCC
May the 12th was round 2 held by Tiverton radio control car club.
It was great to see some more new drivers as the series seems to gather a bit of support fielding both a larger blinky and boosted class.
Tiverton had done plenty of forward planning as in order to hold an SICC round they had to run it at the same time as one of there off road meets. This gave drivers a 45 min gap between rounds while the off road ran which came in handy for many to fix cars etc.
Considering the rain on the previous day and evening the track that greeted us was only damp and had very good grip.
The weather looked like it was going to be a problem but luck held out and we had a few very light showers that the track just seemed to soak up like it never happened without really losing grip at all.
After a quick chat it was felt with the weather that was threatening us all day and time that one round of the heats was dropped so we could get the 2 finals in before the rain.
This worked a treat as the rain started again about 10 mins after the trophies had been given out.

SHMCC's Luke young was awarded Driver of the Day by Gary Simmons
Trying all day to improve but having no luck even when he was handed his car back in pieces he was still smiling and having fun.
At the start of leg 2 of the finals was heard saying with a laugh lets see if i can do more than 6 laps this time.
He obviously enjoys his racing which it what its all about.
